Checkerboard cover for T410 screen lid, lenovo's idea?

I found a cheap T410 unit, but it has this weird checkerboard cover on his screen lid.
Is it a lenovo's idea? Or someone just wants to make his laptop pretty and maybe cover used lid screen?

I've certainly never seen that in the U.S. but maybe lenovo does that in other markets. Is the pattern actually part of the lid or is it a stick-on? Is the "ThinkPad" logo anywhere on the outside of the lid?

Unfortunately this purchase is with delivery option only, so I can't see it with my own eyes.
There is a ThinkPad logo on the body, but clearly no on the lid.
Strange...
Here's another photos:

that's carbon fiber and definitely not lenovo's doing. most likely it's 3M DI-NOC film (which is imitation CF but looks more authentic than printed vinyl).

Looks like it's exactly that. Thanks for your help.
