Guide to vibration free ultrabay HD caddy

Hello

Just got my Ultrabay Harddrive adapter of ebay in the mail. I have no idea if this is an original Lenovo part, but probably not since it felt a little cheap.
I'm using an T400 with SSD as the primary disk and the original 160gb 7200rpm hitachi disk in the ultrabay adapter.

I noticed immediately the vibrations in the whole machine after starting the machine with the adapter. This is probably becase the hdd isn't secured in any way other than the clamp mechanism on the adapter. The harddrive also felt a little loose in the adapter(im using the 4 screws that came with the adapter), and that can't be good for the disk over time.
So here's my solution:

Using 4x fan rubber mounts from a 120mm noctua fan. Just cut of most of it so you are left with the bottom part(about a 1mm rubber pad. Anything thinker and the hdd probably wont fit)
This made all the difference in my machine. Now i can't hear the harddrive and i have no vibrations in the machine.
Hope this help others, because i could find anything on this problem on google.

Thank you for sharing :)
Can you please share as well your energy consumption with both drives on? I also have an SSD and i'm thinking of expanding my storage with the bay drive.

I haven't checked. I rarely use the machine on battery.
