rescue and recovery

Hi,
I am currently using a thinkpad t420 with a hdd and msata combo. I wanted to reformat the msata using a factory restore but when I received the drive I deleted the partition. I have windows installed on the hdd, and thus have the factory restore partition on that drive but if I go through the recovery steps will it give me the option of wiping the msata and not hdd?...or does it automatically pick the drive that has the restore information on it and only apply a reformat to that particular drive?
I have recovery discs at another location so I won't be able to access them for another week but I wanted to know if I could do this process without having to wait. Thanks!
