T500 Access Connections Mobile Broadband option disabled?

Hi,
Symptoms:
1. On Thinkvantage Access Connections/ Under the "Connect to Internet" tab, The Mobile Broadband checkbox option is grey and disabled.
2. On the Tools tab the "Mobile Broadband" option is also grey and disabled.
3. When I press Fn F5 I now only see Wireless LAN and Bluetooth. Mobile Broadband is no longer there?
4. The Ericsson modem still works and I can connect directly from the Windows XP Network Connections Window, so the modem is fine and working.
5. When I first started up the Access Connections utility, everything was fine and the Mobile Broadband options were available, but they disappeared after my first reboot.
My setup:
1. T500 with Windows XP.
2. Thinkvantage Access Connections V5.85
3. Ericsson F3507g integrated modem
4. Wireless WAN Driver version 1.0.1046.229
Question:
I basically actually just want to be able to see the signal strength of my connection to the mobile service while connected. I was hoping that Access Connections can provide this function.
