Should I buy this T400? Is the price right?

#1 Post by tonepaq » Sat Jan 07, 2012 2:55 pm

I have an opportunity to buy a used Lenovo thinkpad T400 that is in excellent condition. They want $325 for the notebook. Is this a good price? How much do you think it is worth? Opinions of this model? I have never owned anything newer than a T61, so this would hopefully be a nice upgrade for me!

Here are the specs. Thank you for your help.

It seems a bit high given that it's a basic configuration. I would also say you're giving up a SXGA+ on your T61 in favor of a WXGA LCD in the T400. You'll be giving up a lot of screen real estate with the T400.

Typcial notebook usage doesn't push the CPU much. Unless you're doing something processor intensive, a T400 probably won't offer much of a bump perofrmance wise. If you're looking to speed things up, I'd say putting a SSD into your T61 is probably a better path to it. Good Luck
