What is the proper Bios Update file?

#1 Post by mr_electric » Thu Jan 12, 2012 6:21 pm

Recently, my 2009 Lenovo ThinkPad T400 (2.53GHz core2duo 2GB RAM) had a failed BIOS update and is not booting. I checked online if there was any way of repairing my bios and finally found the Pheonix bios crisis repair disk. The ThinkPad will read from my external floppy when I plug it in and I do not get the warning beeps like before. I do not think I am using the proper wph/rom file in the disk. Can anyone direct me to the proper wph/rom file needed to restore my laptop?

Thanks in advance!

You can create a bootable CD. Instructions here:

Obviously, you'll need a working PC to burn the CD.

Will it repair a failed bios update? I will give it a try with my new laptop, but I am not sure if the recovery sector of the physical bios chip supports cd... Thank You!!!

I tried the cd. I still get warning beeps and nothing more. Unfortunately, I think I have to prepare a floppy because that is the only device from which I get no error beeps
