Thinkpad T400 looking for reasonably priced 4-cell battery

I have a T400 7417CTO with a 1280x800 display (I'm not even sure if that's considered a widescreen). It came with a 9-cell battery which is dying. I'm trying to resist the urge to get a smaller, lighter laptop by replacing the 9-cell with a 4-cell. I don't need to use it on a battery for very long.

I'm having a hard time finding the 4-cell. Lenovo has them for $120 but that seems a bit steep.

Can anyone direct me to a reputable place that sells a 4-cell for the T400 with the 1280x800 display for less than Lenovo?

Sorry if this has already been addressed. I did try searching first.

I haven't seen many 4-cell batteries around on ebay which is where I look often, but here's a cheap 6-cell: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LENOVO-T61-R61- ... 753wt_1185

it's not as compact but at least it's not as large as the 9-cell. plus it's an LGC so you'll get more life (cycles) out of it than a sanyo.

also 1280x800 is widescreen (16:10 aspect ratio).
good luck! keep in mind you can also use a 4-cell that is for a T61/R61 (14.1" widescreen) or an R400.

Thanks Mario. Looking for the T61 or R61 brings up a lot more batteries including 4-cell. I'll look at some images to see what the differences are in size.

You could always just buy 1-2 20 dollar ones that are 3rd party from amazon.com
