T400 BIOS FLASH

#1 Post by alsohere » Thu Feb 23, 2012 10:59 pm

I have the bios 1.13 for the T400. I do not know if I should attempt to flash the bios and things to upgrade it to the current release. I am afraid of bricking the machine.

Any thoughts?

How safe is it to flash the bios?

I have never had a problem with any ThinkPad BIOS flash.

I also have not seen significant change after a BIOS flash in operating my ThinkPads.

I have read of others that have rendered their ThinkPads unusable after a BIOS flash.

If there is no Lenovo warranty it would be hard to convice me to flash the BIOS.

I agree. No bios flash needed. I think everything is working fine, so I am not taking the risk of creating a piece of post-modern art entitled "The Brick."
