Hello,
Until recently, I have been using T4Xs and T6Xs thinkpads. They used to come with a different type of pointing cap than the current T420 I just bought. One of the cap options was a version which was sort of a mid-point between the current "soft rim" and "soft dome". It was similar to the "soft dome" in shape, but it was larger in diameter, and it did have a very slight rim, but not as pronounced as the new "soft rim". Also, the surface was more similar to the "soft rim". Does anyone know which one I'm talking about? I've gotten so used to that one, that I took out the all dirty and worn out cap from my old T43, and put it on my new computer. I believe that one causes much less strain on the finger. Out of the new ones, the "soft rim" is the better choice for me, but the rim is pronounced too heavily, and after long hours on the computer, the rim does begin to cause some strain on the finger.
Does anyone know where I can get the older type of cap I'm talking about?
UPDATE: I may be mistaken, but I read elsewhere that the cap I'm talking about may be called "soft cup". Can anyone verify if this is correct?
Thanks!
