T510 Ram Question

My T510 has 1G@1066Hz + 4G@1333Hz ram installed. I read some posts that recommended a parallel Ram installed, like 4+4G or 1+1G.
So do you guy think whether it will affect the performance?
or should I replace the 1G with another 4G or just remove it in order to get a better performance?
