Hi
Did somone tried combination mentioned in topic?
I know i need whitelist bios and already have one. But i don't have access to this card and it's too expensive to buy when i don't know if it works.
Card id QC430AA, HP un2430 GOBI 3000
Will it work with my thinkpad?
Is there any way to make it work with access connections like genuine lenovo card?

Welcome to the forum!
Note that
any Gobi 3000 card (whether Lenovo-branded or not) will not work with the standard T400 BIOS. Removing the whitelist limitation with a modified BIOS does not seem to "fix" the problem that the card is simply not "seen" after boot. Taping Pin-20 does not appear to have any effect, as the card remains invisible.
If anyone has had success installing and using a Gobi 3000 card in a ThinkPad that does not "support" it, then please let us know!

See pages 273 to 275 of the
ThinkPad T400 and R400 Hardware Maintenance Manual
You will need to confirm which card covers your mobile operators spec's etc

Yesterday i had opportunity to check Ericsson F5521gw FRU 0A36186 modem made for T420, T520 etc.
It works like charm in my T400 with modded bios!
I use this bios
Code: Select all

Earlier i have tried dell 5620 but with no luck, windows have seen only one device (at com port), i think it should see at least two devices.
Maybe dell cards don't want to speek with other brands hardware
