DisplayPort to HDMI

I'd like to connect my ThinkPad T520 to my TV by HDMI cable.
I bought DisplayPort2HDMI adapter:

I don't know whether Thinkpad supports this or not. I don't know how to force Thinkpad to send any picture to displayport and thus I see black screen on TV.
Is it possible to make it work?

The Thinkpad should support it.
Try pressing Win+P or Fn+F7 to configure multiple displays.

I tryed it before. No success.
TV says "No signal". I tryed every HDMI input port on TV.
Thinkpad/Windows does not recognize that my TV is connected.
When I connect VGA cable the TV receives signal.
"Thinkpad should support it"
means that you just think it should work or you are absolutely sure because you have tryed it yourself?
Lenovo sells only DP2DVI adapter, so now I am not sure ThinkPad supports DP2HDMI.

DVI and HDMI carry the same signal (at least, up to 1920x1080), so it should work.
I never tried it myself, but I think since Tx10 series, all Thinkpad DP ports are DP++ meaning they can transmit DVI/HDMI signal when they sense that the appropriate display is connected.
Maybe a handshake problem between the TV and the Thinkpad, maybe the adapter is defective.

I'll try it on another TV, try to switch HDMI cable and try it with another ThinkPad.
If none of it will help than adapter is the black sheep...

So problem was in HDMI cable.
I bought new one and connection between ThinkPad and TV via DisplayPort-HDMI adapter works well. Both image and audio.

My experience as well. I'm 3 for 6 on DP-HDMI cables.
