#1 Post by rychuu » Thu May 03, 2012 7:05 am

Hello,

What is the measured performance (speed) of the t410 eSata port ?

I am thinking is has sense to buy a 'highspeed' SATA III 6gb cables?

best regards
I am using Lenovo t410 2518-4ju.

best regards

I've never gotten anymore than 250mb transfer rate out of my esata, but then again, it all depends on your source and input drives.
In order to maximize the esata connection, you need to have two SSDs that can both do over 300mb read and write, only then can you saturate the esata bandwith.
I've never had 2 drives fast enough to do a transfer that would maximize the esata connection, the most I've ever seen out of esata was 250mb sustained write.
Going from a 8 Bay Raid to an SSD.

I wouldn't waste my money getting an Sata 3 Esata Cable, because current generation esata connection do not come close to sata 3 transfer rates.
Its very likely that the next revision of esata will be Sata 3 and possibly beyond, maybe even Thunderbolt speeds.
