TV Power Manager vs BIOS Power settings

Hello all,
In my T500, are there any dependencies between TV Power Manager and the Power settings in BIOS Setup utility, particularly the Intel Speed Step and Adaptive Thermal Management settings? (I'm running the most recent versions of each)
In TV Power Mgr I recently reconfigured the CPU Speed settings to Adaptive (from Highest) for both AC & Battery, the machine runs much cooler. But after entering the BIOS Setup utility at boot time the machine heats up as if Pwr Mgr was still set to Highest. I suspect that could be corrected by changing the Adaptive Thermal Management setting in BIOS from Maximize Performance to Balanced, though I was surprised Pwr Mgr hadn't done that automatically.
Judging from what I've seen so far, it appears that a change in Pwr Mgr doesn't bring about an automatic change to BIOS settings. But I'm not sure if it works the same way in reverse, and want to avoid chasing ghosts if it doesn't
My question is if I change the BIOS setting then boot into Windows XP, will that cause a subsequent alteration in Pwr Mgr settings or cause Pwr Mgr to run differently than it did before the BIOS setting changed?
Regards,
Frank
