T400 - no backlight

Hi all!

I bought yesterday T400 for a great price, and i've small problem. Lcd don't have backlight (LED WXGA+) when i replace LCD Cable this same, when i take subcard it starts working! Without SC LCD is nice and clean. I've 6month warranty on it so i'll go to service into few days, but i want to know what is wrong with this

Are you saying the backlight comes on if you remove the subcard? If so, my guess is that you have a short in the cable or a defective subcard

It's a bit strange but service change:

- LCD
- subcard
- BT
- LCD Cable

And still no backlight.

After replacing mobo laptop start work fine

After this ofcours i forgot to check SimSlot, it's not working, so again service. But as i think, only 1 day and will be fixed.

Actually, it is not that strange. There is a fuse on the motherboard that can blow. On CCFL backlight machines, there is a fuse on the inverter which might blow, but with LED backlight, the motherboard fuse F7 blows because there is no inverter.

Bad information for me, I've T61 with nvidia serviced 3times (on warranty, thanks God) so i got T400 with intel to avoid problem with this ;( But i paid for this 150$ so i'll try

Hi again!

I've second t400 with this same problem;(

LED Wxga+
P8600
2GB

When i have BT and subcard connected there is no backlight on LCD(there is no any light on subcard also), when i disconect Subcard Baclight work, lcd it's nice and clean.

I replace:
- mobo
- LCD
- subcard
- lcd assembly

There is posibility to broke any fuse into Mobo by broken LcdCable or subcard?

Old LCD Cable broke 2mobo for me ;(
