Hi,
my T500 is 3,5 years old.
After almost 2 years the display backlight was broken: the display was very(!) dark, only at very bright light conditions one could see that it is in general working, it just very dark. I send it in for repair, and I got it fixed with a new mainboard.
Now its the same problem again. The display is working from time to time, but mostly it is not working. When I open and close the laptop, its flickering, but then its not working again. The warranty is expired by now.
Does anybody know if can fix this myself somehow?
Thanks for helping,

Re: t500 display backlight broken / unstable
If it flickers, it is unlikely to be the motherboard. (motherboard is usually a fuse) You probably need either a panel or an inverter. The inverter is cheaper and easier
