Are there any 1.8" SSDs for T410s that have SF-2281?

T400/410/420 and T500/510/520 series specific matters only

Are there any 1.8" SSDs for T410s that have SF-2281?

#1 Post by jayton4 » Mon Jul 09, 2012 9:39 am

Hello,

I am having trouble searching for a SSD for my new T410s. I am not a fan of the earlier Marvell, Samsung, or Intel(except 520 series) based drives. I am not that concerned about sustained transfer rates as I am Random read/write performance. I really like the Sandforce SF-2281 drives, however, I cannot find a single one in the 1.8" form factor. There was an article on Anandtech back in January for the Muskin Chronos Go, but it looks like that drive was never released.

Does anyone know of a SF-2281 based drive in the 1.8" form factor that I am missing in my searches somehow?

Thanks,

the T410s uses 1.8" micro-SATA, not ZIF.   perhaps that would help your search?

Perhaps this may be of interest and might increase your number of choices.

The first post in this thread at another forum should help :

And this Mushkin contains a Sandforce SF-2281 :

I am not familiar with the T410S so the adapter mentioned by ZaZ may also be needed.

YES that is interesting. I had been thinking about an adapter like this, as I have used the 2.5" IDE to CompactFlash card adapters on my ancient ThinkPads before. However, I could not find this mSATA to MicroSATA adapter and I wasn't even sure it existed.

THANKS!

This looks like the best priced option, and yes, the adapter would be needed for the T410s. That also looks like an excellent choice for T420/T520/W520 users as well for their mSATA option.
