skype meetings with more than 2 participants

Dear all,
I recently bought ThinkPad T420s and I am struggling with Skype on that laptop.
The problem is that once I have a meeting with more than two persons, my speech signal is that much disrupted that I have to cancel the meeting.
The other participants report that they only get fragments of my speech signal.
The funny thing is that if I only have a meeting one person, skype perfectly works. By the way, the same persons who reported heavy disruptions, did not complain about the connection once I had a one-to-one meeting. So it cannot be the configuration of the other skype-participants.
I usually switched to my (very) old laptop (I even use the same headset). Even then, everything works (i.e. skype meeting with more than 2 people is not affected by any disturbance). So it cannot be my internet connection that is malfunctioning. It must have something to do with my ThinkPad.
The skype test-call also works fine.
Does anyone have a clue what is causing this?
Thank you very much in advance.
