I would like to have hard disk encryption on my T410.

In last days I have got following devices:

OCZ Agility 3 SSD
Intel SSDSA2CT040G (intel ssd 320 series)

and I have Seagate st9320423as from this machine else. Is this is hardware-enabled-encryption device?

For me, the most important task now is use SSD, but veery very most important task is an encryption else. Please help me with choosing good solution for my t410 which I have to get encrypted - when Hdd will be pulled to the other system, when all computer will be lost etc I would like to make hdd not accessible.

I dont know which tool and how should I use. I have found lot of informations about Intel AT information but I cant find any information on my fresh system.

Is the encryption process should be turned on before drive formatting to be a system drive?
I have to get encrypted (as many as possible) my system drive. It is very important.

Please help me findnig good solution, it is my first try with encryption
thank you

I think the Intel 330 has built in encryption, so with that you can set the hdd password through the bios of your t410.
The OCZ doesn't have built-in encryption, so you would need to use software based like Truecrypt but there will be a performance hit.

THank you for your reply.

BIOS password - interesting, but what in situation, when I would like to start computer from hibernation/sleeping ?

How this encryption works? What in situation when I unplug drive and connect to other computer?

thank you for helpin, best regards
