Anyone try using SDXC in the T500's Ricoh card reader?

#1 Post by vtohthree » Mon Aug 13, 2012 2:53 pm

I did a search and nothing came up. However....if I was to guess I'd guess that it's a no go and won't work. Has anyone tried? Or does someone have an sdxc card and a T500?

I was about to get a 64gb sdxc at an amazing price to use as supplemental storage but then realized I'd be getting it in vane if it's not even compatible(yes I know I can get an external reader, but it'll mess with my portable setup. as a "lap" top).

I think that our T500 arrived years before SDXC, so it won't work.

Unless I'm mistaken SDXC was announced 2009 and released products in 2010. I got my T500 as an outgoing model in 2010(manufactured that year too).... however, having said that the latest firmware update for our Ricoh card reader was in 2008.... so it's likely that it won't work.

If you are not using your expresscard slot, you could get an SDXC card reader for that without giving up your portability.
