Access Connections *very* slow

Has anyone else had problems with Access Connections lately? I'm all updated, and probably due to one of those updates, everything about AC is *crazy* sluggish. Like, it sometimes takes literally one minute for AC to open when I've double-clicked the tray icon. The tray icon popup window can take 30 seconds or more to open. Something's wrong, just not sure what it is (and I wouldn't put it past lenovo to put out buggy software either).

Any ideas?

thanks,
alex

I have Access Connections on all my machines -- checked my T410i and X200 this morning and AC is working as usual. I'm wondering if Lenovo has discontinued AC because when I used System Update (and searched Lenovo's Support) on a fresh install of my latest T60, I was unable to find AC -- System Update did not offer it, and a google search could not find it -- not sure if I'm missing something or if AC is discontinued. I think Lenovo already discontinued Thinkvantage Toolbox? :?

thanks for checking, emtee (and thanks for the info about discontinuing the toolbox - i'm uninstalling it as i type).

The last AC update for my machine was released on June 10th. It's still there in the driver matrix. Given what I've heard about the bugginess of lenovo's System Update, I wouldn't be surprised in the least if AC's not showing up was an error in system update.

anyone else?

@GACrabill -- thanks for the link -- I kept getting Lenovo's "page not found" when looking for AC -- now my 'new' T60 has AC installed :)

Also, I think Lenovo replaced Thinkvantage Toolbox with Lenovo Solutions Center -- but I think it is only available for T400 and above -- not sure if that leaves my T60 with no Thinkpad Utility :?

Interesting! Thanks. Sounds like there have been a ton of issues, and sounds like lenovo is using its userbase as guinea pigs.

So, perhaps the solution is to roll back to 5.93?

What an extraordinary statement to make on the basis of a handful of messages

@bill - there are a bunch of messages about it on the lenovo forums. furthermore, lenovo has put forth AC updates numerous times, just to retract them later and roll back to 5.93. To me, that indicates vastly insufficient pre-release testing. AKA, using your userbase as guinea pigs.

For all those who might be encountering similar problems, the current version of Access Connections on the Lenovo driver matrix for th T410 is 5.93, *not* 5.95. I uninstalled AC and then installed AC 5.93, and my problems are gone.
