VPN problem over Wifi

#1 Post by Lareau » Fri Sep 14, 2012 2:32 pm

I have a bunch of T420 in the office and they all seam to have the same issue.
When connected with a wire, there is no problem at all.
But when connected on wifi, it doesn't seams to work well.
A lot of people are complaining that they cannot connect to the office from home using the VPN connection when they are wifi.
And if it works, the connection keeps cuting every once in a while.

But I noticed that they seams to have a problem working directly from the office wirelessly. Is there anything wrong on these laptops ?

I use Acronis disk image to clone all the laptop I order. I have an image file that I push on every machine, then change the name et join to the domain.

Windows XP SP3, do not use any programme like thinkvantage for the wifi, it uses windows connection.

Any idea ?
Thank you very much,
Martin L.

Sorry if it's too obvious, but have you made sure they have the latest driver? It sure sounds like a typical driver issue, possibly resolved in an updated driver version (or not... ).

The drivers are the latest one from the think vantage programme (that searches for drivers automaticly).

So I guess it's the latest one !

Thank you for your help!

Any others ?

Is it possible the wireless adapter roaming aggressiveness is set to high or medium high, with the wireless having trouble re-connecting through the VPN?

Here's a discussion that points to Access Connections being the problem :?

Cheers.
