T400 ultrabay drive stuck

Hi all,

I recently bought a used T400 off ebay, one issue that keeps puzzling me is that the ultrabay-drive (DVD-RW) somehow seems 'stuck' when trying to pull it out. The 'tab' to pull out the drive ejects nicely when the slider is activated, the drive then comes out something like 5 mm, but then 'sticks', and can't be pulled out any further. Comparing with my other T400, when taking out the keyboard, I see a piece of tape present in this one, that bends around some of the hardware near the DVD-RW drive, and it seems that when I try and pull it out with an open computer, and can see the tape extending. It seems someone has taken the trouble to tape it stuck (in a way that doesn't remove easily). Have anyone seen this before? Is this something that could come from the manufacturer, or is it more likely someone who has made it this way over the product lifetime?

Kind regards,
raabjerg

Whoever had it before did it, i work with thinkpads a lot, we are even an authorized partner and Lenovo does not do that at all, if it is to be secured there is a screw you can put right under the tab/clip to release it, but no tape, that would be a sloppy job from any technician lol.

Yeah, that's what I thought. On second inspection, it turned out to be a piece of tape that should already be in the system (as compared to my other T400), that had gotten stuck to the DVD-RW. It seemed rather deliberate; managed to pull it loose with a couple of screwdrivers, and now I again have complete control over my Ultrabay :) Thanks!
