Vertical band on screen of T410s

#1 Post by jayton4 » Wed Nov 14, 2012 7:21 pm

It looks like my screen may be going out, which really sucks because the cost of the replacements is out of sight!

If I push on the front of the screen with my finger, about halfway down in the middle of the band, I can massage it away. If I push in the same area on the back of the panel, it comes back. It only happens when I am at work. It is really weird that I cannot get this to happen at all when at home. Any ideas on why that is?

There could be a loose cable or problem with the power brick. Try using your AC adapter from home when you're at work. Does the same thing happen in the BIOS?

I have 3 different power bricks at work. It is definitely something in the screen. It will do it after a reset as well, including BIOS. I'm just going to deal with it until I can budget for a T420s off of ebay in about 6 months.

It is not a loose cable. It isn't power. The contacts to the column drivers (1 contact per column of pixels) is on a tape with adhesive between the contacts. Yours has delaminated
