I have a T520 andI did a complete backup through Rescue and Recovery I did the back up to DVD. I then checked all the DVDs They all have data and are almost full. The T520 came with a Toshiba 500 gig HD, I have added a Crucial Msata 128 GiG, The T520 is running windows 7, and I have loaded the programs I use, and almost no data. The DVDs from the complete back up are marked as follows:

Final SP Backup
Startup Disk
1c
2c
3c
4c
Final Q
Final C
All DVDs are full I Take out the Toshiba 500Gig put in my Crucial Msata Drive Boot with the Startup Disk select complete restore select from CD/DVD The T520 Asks for all the disks Some are only used for a few mnutes then after I put in final C It says it is going to reboot select drive after reboot and then I get the error screen:

1. Insert Your windows installation Disc and restart your computer
2. Choose your language settings
3 Click Repair your computer

File: \windows\system32\winload.exe

Status: 0xc000000f

The Selected Entry could not be loaded because the application os missing or corrupt.

When you receive a laptop from Lenovo they do not give you Windows 7 discs. So there is no way to do a srt. All I want to do is get the Msata drive to boot and run the os and all my loaded programs. This way it is faster and more efficient. Is there a simpler way. Please help I have only got about 40 hours into this mess. Thanks for any help from the experts.

Well first I recomend you save backup on external hard drive. Second which software you using for backup? I'm using Acronis True Image and its just works perfect. And it is easy to use it. You have to make full backup. Keep in mind new disk physical partitions can't be less than previous hdd partitions. If you use Acronis True Image, than at backup option select Backup Disk, than Sector-by-sector > Destination Disk. Recovery: Select backup image > select sector-by-sector (do not select unlocated size) > Destination disk (where you want to recover) > Finally select Disk Signature (For MBR and some programs need disk signature). I did backup for Windows 7 and Windows 8 on Thinkpad SL510 and for Thinkpad T400. No prob.

I do not have Acronis I would love to have it. I do have Ghost 8.2 and Clone HD My Toshiba actually appears to have 3 partitions one which is Q which is recovery partition. One which is Windows_7 and another which appears to be a boot partition. I also have Hirens Boot CD ver 12 and 10 both have partition tools on them. I sure appreciate any help I could get from anyone on this as I have hours in this project which usually is quite simple.

Thanks for any other help.

I did use Norton Ghost v15, but its not work as I want. Always after restore I had issues with mbr, and something else. I cant remember. So acronis comes 30 days trial I think so. Just download Acronis True Image bootable iso image, burn it in disk and create your backup.

Check page 111 of the user guide at http://download.lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobil ... _ug_en.pdf. You create your own recovery discs. There are very few manufacturer's that give you discs anymore. The Samsung Series 7 is the only one that I have seen recently that still comes with discs. HP does not even let you create your own, you get the recovery partition and that is it.

Cloning to an SSD never yields the best results anyway. Just reinstall to the mSATA with the discs from "Create Recovery Media."
