No Flex Keyboard

I'm in the market for a Danish keyboard for my T60. I can't find the original on ebay, but I do see a T400/T500 one and I understand they are compatible.

However, as I was researching the compatibility I also noted that some of the initial T400/500 keyboards were found to be kind of flexy by at least some users. There were also comments on this blog about this having applied only to initial shipments and later corrected.

If that is the case - that it was later corrected, then did the new stiffer keyboards carry a new FRU or part number?

Does anyone happen to have P/N's for the old and new versions?

Ultimately, I'm looking to determine if the keyboard offered in this auction is going to offer the same level of stiffness I'm accustomed to from the T40 and T60 series of keyboards:

I looked up the T400 hardware maintenance manual, and see two tables of keyboards. The danish keyboard (42T3943) offered in the ebay auction is listed in the first table, table 39, which also contains two additional part numbers, I assume there is one for each keyboard vendor (but it doesn't say which one is which vendor).

Table 40 contains 3 more P/N's for the danish keyboard, along with all the same languages listed in table 39. There is nothing to hint at why there is a total of 6 P/N's for each language keyboard.

No. FRUs have stayed the same AFAIK.

I'd ask the seller if the keyboard had "Swiss cheese" perforations on the back or not. If it doesn't, then that's the one you're looking for,

There is a photo of the back in the ebay auction. It does have holes, but I'm not sure if they are functional rather or weight-reducing. Any chance you could have a look?

If there are an excessive amount of holes-> swiss cheese keyboard

If there is maybe five or six holes -> this is the type you want!

Have been in the same situation as you have. Using a keyboard from a T6X-series made the biggest difference. I am not 100% but if you download the hardware maintenance manual for the T6x-series then you will find the NMB, Chicony, and ALPS FRU numbers. That might be a start for you. Good luck :)
