I'm looking for a new battery (9 cell) for a T510. 42T4799 or 42T4801 8400mAh
Does anyone know the difference between the two?
Does anyone know of a reliable source for Thinkpad batteries? Someone I can trust?
Thanks,
Docfxit

If you are worried about trust and reliable source, then get it from Lenovo:

Thanks for the reply...
I was hoping to find one a lot cheaper. Someone here has to have found a good product probably on ebay.
Thanks,

I'd give up on trying to find quality batteries on eBay. It's not worth the effort.
I've had success w/
DrBattery.com. If your battery dies under warranty, they're very good w/ support & replacement (unlike Lenovo).

If you're not wedded to OEM Lenovo, consider
Intelligent Batteries. I've had good luck with them. The operation is in Canada but they're close enough to the border that they may ship out of Washington state to US addresses.
A 9 cell for a W510 shows as $38 on their website, shipping additional.

are the good 3rd party batteries really just as good as oem ones?
