I am trying to re-create my original HDD on my T430s to factory status.
When I bought the laptop, I made a clone of the system partition and migrated to an ssd.
For lack of space, I did not select the Lenovo Recovery partition to be included in the clone.
So this partition, containing two WIM files with the original sys files, are not where they should be.
The Lenovo Recovery partition contains this:
SRECYCLE.BIN
FactoryRecovery
RECYCLER
System Volume Information
AUTORUN.INF
LenovoQDrive.exe
qdrive.ico
The sub folder Factory Recovery has the following content:
bcdinfo.txt
cdrivebackup.wim
flush.dat
populateini.log
RECOVERY.INI
sdrivebackup.wim
The following is in the recovery.ini file:
[partition1]
size=17999
type=07
label=Lenovo_Recovery
volume=Q
fs=NTFS
active=0
backuptype=COPY
state=1
recfromsp=0
imagename=
install=
installsplit=
[partition2]
size=1499
type=07
label=SYSTEM_DRV
volume=S
fs=NTFS
active=1
backuptype=WIM
state=1
recfromsp=0
imagename=Sdrivebackup.wim
install=recimagex.exe /apply /verify Q:\factoryrecovery\Sdrivebackup.wim 1 S:\
installsplit=recimagex.exe /apply /verify Q:\factoryrecovery\Sdrivebackup.swm 1 S:\ /ref Q:\factoryrecovery\Sdrivebackup*.swm
[partition3]
size=
type=07
label=Windows7_OS
volume=C
fs=NTFS
active=0
backuptype=WIM
state=1
recfromsp=0
imagename=Cdrivebackup.wim
install=recimagex.exe /apply /verify Q:\factoryrecovery\Cdrivebackup.wim 1 C:\
installsplit=recimagex.exe /apply /verify Q:\factoryrecovery\Cdrivebackup.swm 1 C:\ /ref Q:\factoryrecovery\Cdrivebackup*.swm

Re: Restore HDD to factory state when RecoveryWimFilesWereMoved
When I click on Qdrive.exe, it starts to run the software that creates a factory recovery disk. It states Cannot find files, as it seems that the recovery.ini file contains the location of the origin and intended destination of the factory state system partition...and the file is now at the wrong place.
I am now downloading WAIK, which apparently can work with the .wim files
Anybody has any idea, what is the difference between the two .wim files there?
alternatively, can anybody advice which parameters to rewrite in recovery.ini, so that upon
clicking on qdrive.exe, the utility does find the .wim file at the proper location and proceeds to burn the recovery discs, thanks

Re: Restore HDD to factory state when RecoveryWimFilesWereMoved
last news is, I managed to make the restore medium.. the trick was to have the lenovo_recovery directory copied into the main system drive, which now is the SSD drive...I renamed it as the Q drive, as this drive letter is referenced in the .ini file.
Also the order of the partitions was the same, that is, q was the third from the left in Disk Management snap-in module.
With lenovo recovery copied to the system drive to the right place, I clicked on lenovoQdrive.exe, and this time it worked ok.
Glad I did not delete that partition...I have media for Win 8, but not for win 7 recovery. O fcourse I could have just continued with win 8 or the clone...but, I plan to make a clean install this time, so good to have win 7 recovery as well.
