Hoj!

I bought Ericsson F5521gw off Ebay for my (now out of warranty) T500. Card arrived after 14 days and it's somewhat damaged -- it's metal part but I think otherwise everything is OK.

I already have partched bios for centrino ultimate 6300-N and I thought WWAN should not be a problem. At startup there is no bios error and card shows in device manager:

Unfortunatelly none of drivers that should wok -- doesn't:

Its generic card, not Lenovo branded:

Code: Select all

Ericsson F5521gw
USB\VID_0BDB&PID_1911 <- Lenovo Card
USB\VID_0BDB&PID_190D <- Generic Card
I switched to Ubuntu 12.04 and dmseg show this:

Code: Select all

... and some TP power management also list as USB device:

Code: Select all

Bus 002 Device 002 ID 0bdb:190d control = auto, autosuspend_delay_ms = 2000 -- Ericsson Business Mobile Networks BV (cdc_acm, cdc_wdm, cdc_ncm)
Device should be supported "out-of-the-box" (in Ubuntu), but networm nanager doesn't detect it.

Now I'm a bit lost. Is my card still whitelisted (have patched bios only for wifi cards, but if so I would expect an error at boot) or is there something else?

Has anyone succesffuly installed this card on older/unsupported thinkpad, like my T500 ... at all?

Any help appreciated,
b.

Finally managed to install drivers by modifying INF files. Since I'm not sure posting such "manual" complies with forum rules -- I'd rather not :)
Only thing I still have to figure out is Lenovo GPS app which refuse to run, but device itself is working as Win7 "location sensor".

Anyone interested can PM me.
