Need some help with T500 and F5521gw WWAN card (/w pics)

Hoj!
I bought Ericsson F5521gw off Ebay for my (now out of warranty) T500. Card arrived after 14 days and it's somewhat damaged -- it's metal part but I think otherwise everything is OK.

I already have partched bios for centrino ultimate 6300-N and I thought WWAN should not be a problem. At startup there is no bios error and card shows in device manager:

Unfortunatelly none of drivers that should wok -- doesn't:

Its generic card, not Lenovo branded:
I switched to Ubuntu 12.04 and dmseg show this:
usb-list output:
... and some TP power management also list as USB device:
Device should be supported "out-of-the-box" (in Ubuntu), but networm nanager doesn't detect it.
Now I'm a bit lost. Is my card still whitelisted (have patched bios only for wifi cards, but if so I would expect an error at boot) or is there something else?
Has anyone succesffuly installed this card on older/unsupported thinkpad, like my T500 ... at all?
Any help appreciated,
b.
