Hi
I have updated my T410 to Windows 8 PRO. Every thing works fine and the drivers and software have been updated from the support site.
The DVD drive however keeps disappearing from Device Manager and says the hardware is disconnected due to the wrong driver. If I insert a disc it appears again and works okay.
The only software for the DVD is in the Win 7 listing. I have downloaded this and run it. It runs fine to the update window where it says an update is available for installing. When I try to install it a window returns that says software is preventing it installing and the drive disappears from Device Manager.
What is wrong, if anything? Replies welcome.
