T500 - T530, same display compatibility?

I am looking to buy a FHD panel for my T530. Does anyone know if a T500 or newer panel would fit as long as it was for those models? I looked on eBay and Amazon and I am very skeptical. They all are either $150 and local, or $70 and from China. I don't want to get ripped off and get a fake, and I don't want to spend $150 and get one that doesn't fit. I also checked laptopscreens.com and they looked to fit the closest of all since they have specific models compatibility listed.

T500 uses 16:10 panel so it is not compatible with the T530. But the T510 onwards use the same panel as the T530 so they are compatible.

Are there any rare instances where a panel would not be compatible? If not, I could pull the trigger on one right now. Do you know of a trustworthy place to purchase panels for newer ThinkPads?

Actually the T510 is also a 16:10 like the T500. You would have to start with the T520 and later for a similar 16:9 panel like the T530. I am not sure about compatibility.
Stand corrected.

No.
Here's where the confusion comes from:
T410 and its siblings (i, S, si whatever) are indeed 16:10. The very last T series in that format.
T510 and W510 are most certainly 16:9, and hence compatible with later units in the LCD area.
