Lenovo Thinkpad T410-2516CTO Battery Replacement

Hey guys,

I bought 2 Lenovo Thinkpad T410-2516CTO's with a Fan Error recently, but they didn't come with a battery. I replaced the Heatsink and fan on them and was able to get Windows Installed no problem.

Since I didn't know which battery to buy, I went to ebay and bought some 4 cell replacements 42T4763. When installed on the laptop, it will randomly shut off with no warning or indication. When the laptop is plugged in to its AC adapter, it will run all day long with no problem. This led me to believe that I bought the wrong type of battery. If the battery AND Ac Adapter are plugged in, the computer will still power off. On Lenovo's website however, the 2516-CTO is listed on just about every battery compatible with them.

So before I go on an endeavor and buy another battery, does anyone here know exactly which FRU to buy?

The new 70+ and 70++ batteries that work in the T430, T530, W530 (and other old systems) will also work in your system.

If the battery fits, it is the right one, but that behavior is common for non-Lenovo (aftermarket) batteries. If I get them, I generally recycle them immediately. I don't even test them to see if they work.
