ThinkPad T500 Palmrest Question

My T500 has a normal palmrest with no fingerprint reader. If I bought one with the reader and installed it, would the fingerprint reader work?

Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 320GB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM, Windows 7 Professional x64
Soon to be added: Core 2 Duo P8600 (salvaged from Dell Latitude E6500), 8GB DDR3 RAM, 120GB Samsung SSD, Palmrest w/ fingerprint reader, Ultrabay HDD caddy

Yes. All the motherboards have the required biometric coprocessor

OK good. I need a new palmrest anyways, the current one has a crack in it and is worn down some. I might go ahead and buy a new keyboard, too.
