Lenovo T520 to a newer Lenovo T530

I am upgrading from a Lenovo T520 Type 4240 4EU to a Lenovo T530. I have a Lenovo external hard drive which contains all my files, which I will use when I get my new T530, but is there a way, through a USB cable or otherwise, to transfer all the programs on my existing T520?

Just move the hard disk from T520 into T530.
Or take an image of the T520 HD and copy that onto the T530 HD (or another HD, if you want to keep the T530 original drive).
At the most, you might have to (re)load some drivers.
