Hey Guys.
I've tried to conctact lenovo because I want a original ultrabay for my T510, i've read that the 3rd party ultrabays might do damage to your motherboard.
I'm looking for a #FRU number, and maybe an ebay link for one that is original.
I've been searching, and found three different #FRU numbers that will fit in my T510, and I think it is very difficult to differentiate original from 3rd party on ebay and other sites.
I tried to buy the part from shop.lenovo.com, but it was a hell, really crappy support..
I hope you guys will help me out.
Rasmus

I think the accessory part numbers are listed on www.lenovoquickpick.com.
Sometimes the FRU numbers will be superseded by a newer FRU number.
I haven't heard of the third party trays causing damage to motherboards. The connector is a slimline style SATA connection that can handle many insertions/ejection cycles.

From this outfit http://www.newmodeus.com/ I ordered a caddy to put a HDD in the Ultrabay of my T510. I was so satisfied, I ordered another one. The caddy fits and works perfectly, in my opinion, and it's very well engineered and made. They shipped quickly. So you may want to consider them.
I did buy a cheap one once from another vendor. It was so bad, I immediately asked the vendor for a refund. The provided it and said I could keep the caddy! So stay away from the $12 specials.
Hope that helps,
Mike
