is there a cable I can get to hook the Ultrabay DVD drive to the USB port on my ThinkPad? I'm putting a hard drive in the ultrabay slot, and I don't want to take that out since its my data drive.

There probably is such as cable and/or housing. Exactly what system are we talking about? It's a difference between Serial Ultrabay Slim and Serial Ultrabay Enhanced.
edit: Looked at a couple of your previous posts and if we're talking about a T500 (Serial Ultrabay Slim; 9.5mm height), then this might work:

OK, I'll look at that and also look to see if I can find one in the US. I prefer doing orders from sellers in the US because of shipping time, and I want as little downtime as possible with any of my parts.

Would I be able to just use a SATA to USB cable? I have one of those at my house, and I used it to hook up the original 250GB hard drive from my T500 to my computer when I put a 320 in it.

Sorry, but I don't know if the Serial Ultrabay Slim optical drive uses a standard SATA connector.

I just looked it up, it has a smaller SATA connector. I'll just get that enclosure after I get my SSD and HDD adapter. I have a whole list of things that I'm putting into this ThinkPad. Putting more in than I spent ($170), but it's worth it.

There are adapters for the slim line sata. A better solution may be to buy a portable USB DVDRW drive. They are ~ $30.
