More info needed.
What OS? Does it go through the shut down process like it thinks the power button was pressed? Does it just lose power? What does it say when you boot it back up? Anything about critical battery?

if there is an issue that arose BEFORE warranty expired it SHOULD still be under warranty for that issue..
here in the USA if an issue can not be resolved by the manufacturer of most ANY item (car, TV or even thinkpad) after three attempts for repairing the same issue then it must be replaced or repurchased (i BELIEVE)..
SO, if i were you i would approach this out of warranty issue on those grounds..
tell them its been back for the same problem several times (insert the number of repair attempts in place of "several") and escalate this warranty claim to a manager..
now things might be different in nigeria BUT if you purchased this thinkpad from the USA or maybe even the UK you might have a stronger case for complete repair or replacement..
