Migrating from T61 to T500

Anybody know if there's a decent chance of migrating a drive over from a T61 (nVidia GPU) to a T500 without a reload? I know I'll have to at least unload the graphics driver, but thought I'd check and see if anyone here had done this particular upgrade. :?

The most important question here is what OS is on the drive that you're migrating...

W7 will work with no issues 99% of the time.

XP, on the other hand...

I believe you'll be fine.

While I've never gone from a nVidia T61 to T500, I have done so from SATA-modded T43p into a X61T with no issues...this was a 32-bit install, but that fact should make no difference.

Good luck.

OK, just did it after uninstalling the nVidia driver and got a bluescreen dump, so it looks like I'll need to drop a few other items as well. Anyone have thoughts on which ones. I'd strongly prefer not to have to reload my wife's machine all loaded up with all manner of stuff!

Did you check the AHCI vs. Compatibility mode in BIOS on both machines, since they would need to be on the same page in that respect?

I moved ssd from T60 to T400, all I did was moved the drive and booted into safe mode with networking. After a while Windows 7 had done the changes. ...On Ubuntu 12.04 there was nothing to do, it really doesnt mind about changes.
