Thinkpad T500 + Advanced dock 2503 - what to add to Pci-e?

I guess the capabilities for fitting a graphic card in a 2503 advanced dock has been well debated here. After a lot of research am coming to a conclusion, that if I really want a graphic card upgrade for my T500, I should go a different route. The DIY ViDock makes sense, as I have two express card slots (one on my laptop and another on my dock) sitting empty. I am not in the biggest need though, I hardly play games and the current setup supports dual monitors.

I, however, still want to utilize the pci-e x1 half size slot on the dock and I was thinking of what to put in there. Have you guys tried an audio card or a TV tuner card? Maybe even a USB 3.0 card? I already have used up the 5 available USBs on the dock. Any thoughts, suggestions or examples will be much appreciated.

Tried HD7750 low profile and USB 3.0 on 2503 with my T61, works great under win7
but same things don't work so great with my R400 with Dual Graphics
