I am joining the Peace Corps and leaving for South Africa. I need a new smallish laptop to take with me. http://1sale.com/electronics/computers- ... 0-2522bf3/ Here is one for $319. I Like that it has a SSD and I plan on putting a DVD/RW in it for less then $15.
Is this a good deal or is the laptop so old now the possessor is obsolete? Only last till the end of today. I'm torn if I should get this one or wait for Black Friday
Thanks for your opinions.

Is this a good deal? Lenova T410 - 1sale.com
Re: Is this a good deal? Lenova T410 - 1sale.com
The T410 is coming up 3 years old. The CPUs are dual core with hyperthreading, good/great for all general laptop usage and certainly not obsolete. With the SSD it should be a responsive machine. $319 given the SSD doesn't sound unreasonable, but I'm not familiar with prices in your area.

I'm not really up to date on pricing for off lease compters either, but the $319 seems reasonable to me for a high end T410 with WXGA+ LCD and SSD. But for WXGA, even with the SSD, it just seems like a little to many $$, at least for me. Also consider that Win 7 was available on the T410, and this one is being offered with XP (a near end-of-life OS), that would devalue it further in my opinion. Unless you are not planning on never using Windows anyway, then that would be a non-issue, except for re-sale value down the road.
According to the factory specs for this model, it should include a DVD-RW drive:
