I have two new T430S units, both new and a common issue. I'm seeing explorer.exe hanging at random points on both laptops. One seems to be directly related to Dropbox being installed but that software is not installed on the second unit. In both cases if the kill the explorer.exe process and restart it all is fine for a period of time. I'm starting to get very suspicious of a Lenovo installed program that has some sort of shell extension that is corrupted.
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Any help is appreciated.

Re: T430S and explorer.exe hanging
Probably a good starting point for that would be to look at your event logs, etc., if you have not already. Event logs will likely cite something such as "the program EXPLORER.EXE version blablabla has stopped responding..." Post back what you've done for troubleshooting thus far.

Re: T430S and explorer.exe hanging
I see an EventID 1002 - Application Hang for explorer.exe
On one laptop if I unload Dropbox is seems to solve the issue but it's not being used constantly. On the other laptop without Dropbox installed it is being used all the time and it seems to happen first thing or last thing during the day - but once a day pretty consistently. I've run all Windows and Lenovo updates and uninstalled unused items.

It's probably the 64-bit.
I've had similar problems on a T410 with 64-bit W7-Pro.
After going back to 32-bit, no more problems.
And BTW: you're in the wrong forum.
The T430/T530 and later are no longer considered 'real' Thinkpads.
They are categorized under: Post-Classic Lenovo Hardware
