ram not recognized

After installing fresh Win 7 pro on 1TB new hard drive,on thinkpad W520 , 4 MB ram not recognized, should show 12 gig ram

Was it showing before? What does it say in BIOS?

Pull the SODIMMs out and snap them back in to be sure that one of them didn't get dislodged during the new HD install.
