T410 USB Ports not working

Hello, I recently bought a manufacturer refurbished Thinkpad T410 2522EC8. The USB ports are not working at all. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers through the device manager. The only signs of life the ports are showing is when I plug in my USB mouse, the mouse lights up, but I can't actually use the mouse. When I plug in a flash drive, it doesn't light up like it usually does and I can't find it under the Computer removable storage section.

Please let me know if I need to supply any more information. Thank you in advance!

This sounds very bad.

Now double-check:
Expand the Device Manager section titled: "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
Several Intel devices should be present.
Look for warning marks, or "This device cannot start."
There are no warning marks in Device Manager? I forget the exact appearance, possibly a yellow triangle with an exclamation point.

The USB support is part of the motherboard chipset. If the above provides no clues, you should seek recourse with the seller ASAP.

Yes, there are several devices under the USB Controllers section. There are no warning signs at all, however. I've already disabled/re-enabled and uninstalled/re-installed all of them several times.

I have two weeks if I want to return it for a refund, but I'd really like to get it fixed if possible. Thank you for the reply!

Check the BIOS that USB is enabled (probably not...).
At boot time immediately press F1 a few times.
Once in BIOS, select Config, on the next screen select USB.
Check that USB BIOS SUPPORT is Enabled
If not, do so, then press F10 to save settings and confirm with Yes.
The system will reboot.
Now check USB ports again.
If still not working, check each USB port carefully with a flashlight.
Anything bent/broken/missing/extra in one port compared to others?

Is this a fresh OS install or whatever came with the machine?

Boot a Linux LiveCD to see if USB works there.
