X3 Carbon vs. T440s

I'm debating on which 2 machines to get, the X1 Carbon Haswell refresh that's slated to arrive next month (codenamed X3 Carbon I think) or the T440s. If we put the 2 side by side, with the same exact specs (ie, 4th gen i7/ 8gigs ram/ 256 SSD), which one would be better in terms of overall performance, speed, reliability, durability, and battery life?

Both these machines belong in a different forum each.
And FYI: both these machines are no longer considered to be Thinkpads on this forum!

The fans of the classic ThinkPads are really displeased with the changes Lenovo introduced in the T430 (and other *30 models), mainly the switch from the 7-row keyboard to 6-row chicklet keyboard. The fact that they removed the dedicated TrackPoint buttons in *40 doesn't help either.
If this is going to be your first ThinkPad this might not be a problem.
As you see, you've posted in "Classic ThinkPad Hardware" forum. Use the "Post-Classic ThinkPad Hardware" for talking about *30 and newer machines.
Either
ThinkPad T430/T530 and later Series
or
ThinkPad X1/X1C.

Ahh now that's understandable. I get it. My first ThinkPad was a T43 and I do miss it a lot. I remember it had a hard time with youtube. I even upgraded its RAM with no avail. I turned it over to my dad and he sold it on ebay about 6 years ago. I wish I hadn't gotten rid of it now that I hear people having success replacing their hardrives with SSDs.
