Lenovo Solution Center to replace Lenovo Toolbox in T400?

I have friend with a T400 that I help him maintain via a remote-access connection because he isn't technically sophisticated. Recently, the Lenovo Toolbox on his system has been reporting (falsely, it seems) that his Windows 7 firewall is turned off. I'd like to replace the Lenovo Toolbox with the new Lenovo Solution Center, but Lenovo doesn't list the T400 as one of the supported systems for the Lenovo Solution Center.

Because I have to work remotely and slowly when doing anything at all with his system, and because I certainly don't want to mess up his system, I hesitate to experiment with something that may not work. So I would be very grateful if anyone can tell me (on the basis of experience) whether the Lenovo Solution Center will in fact install and run on the T400.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It might work, but it's a P.O.S. that you don't really want an ANY laptop!
It keeps telling you that you haven't made a backup, or that your warranty is up (even if you'd still have a year or more to go...) and irritates you to no end with other superfluous crappy remarks!

Hmm... Sounds mostly right to me. I've got it on a ThinkCentre desktop and had to turn off many of the warnings, but - on the other hand - it did report a failing hard disk in time to get it replaced under warranty, so I'm glad it was there, and I think my friend ought to have something.

So if anyone knows whether the Lenovo Solution Center will in fact run on a T400, I'll be grateful!

I keep Toolbox (old PC Doctor version) on my thinkpads that are running Windows just for the hardware checks alone. Backup warnings disabled, and I haven't had the problem with the warranty expiry notification yet. If it does become a problem, out the door it will go!

I had solution center once but immediately removed it. I can't remember what the deal breaker was. It seemed to work fine on my R400, which is very similar to the T400.
