T410 won't charge battery

#1 Post by Olwe » Sat Feb 22, 2014 10:28 am

Well, it's definitely the 410, not the battery. I've now bought two new batteries, and both won't charge, eternally blinking amber battery icon, the OS saying "no battery." What could be the problem? Can this be fixed?

Most likely a blown fuse on the motherboard.

You'd have to open up the machine and check all of them with a multimeter to see which one reads an "open" and then solder the new one over it.

Do bear in mind that these are not meant to be user replaceable and are extremely tiny.

Good luck.

Any hope of tracking down which fuse?

Or . . . would this be a good replacement. Mine is an i5 chip

That board looks OK.

Good luck.
