how to add bluetooth to my T500 2242-33U ? Preferably Bluetooth 4.0? Is there an internal module?

Bluetooth is/has to be located behind the screen bezel, left from the LCD cable.

I'm not sure about BT 4.0, but if you want to install any of the Lenovo bluetooth modules that came originally with some T500 I would recommend the following:
- Download the hardware maintenance manual (HMM )from here: click me!
- Check page 111 of that manual (not the page# from your pdf viever!)
- You'll find the part number on page 177 (FRU 42T0969)
- Get one in Ebay/Amazon or another shop you like

Most ThinkPads use a Bluetooth Daughter Card as their Bluetooth module.

I also believe that the T500 uses the same daughter cards as the T60 X60 T400 T500 and T410 with FRU 39T0497 which is Bluetooth 2.0. As for Bluetooth 4.0, I don't think there's one available. Most Bluetooth 3.0-4.0 nowadays have it built into the WiFi card.
