LED T400: Retrofit a CCFL LCD will work?

Hi everyone. So I got a T400 that has a bad LED LCD
Its not cracked but it has those 'ink blotches', also the unit I acquired doesn't have a LCD ribbon cable or the little board where the inverter will go to.
So I'd have to buy a new lid with everything on it...
I have a few R61 widescreen panels that will fit with the ccfl inverter, but will it be compatible?
Main reason why I'm doing this is that I have a few friends who'd want to buy sub $100 laptops and this route would meet that requirement.
Looking at Lenovo's support site doesn't list any differences when inputting the machine type.

If this has yet to be done, I don't mind risking the challenge!
Oh, if it matters I tested the bad display on a T60 and shined light behind it to see that its damaged.
Worked like a dead backlight would except missing the inverter and all that stuff.
Worst scenario is that I just sell the unit around the same price on eBay if its not possible.
