2504 mini dock and audio through DVI-D

Here's a question for anybody. Has anybody ever tried to get audio from the 2504 mini-dock with a T400 or T500 through the DVI-D connection? In theory, it should work with switchable graphic models since it's supported by AMD. Just curious if anybody has tried it. I would be using a DVI-D to HDMI cable for the connection. I am asking about these specific models since both the dock and laptop can be found pretty cheap. If it was to work, I might like to pick up a T400 base and mini-dock for a project I have in mind. If no one has tried it, I am going to see if I can borrow one locally to try it. Thanks for any insight you can supply.

Is it really supported on the ATI 3000 mobile series?

In case it does, one mentioned that a special DVI-HDMI adapter needs to be used. Like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

Not sure why, because I assumed the connection would be passive anyways, but that's the info I could find.

Thanks for the reply, I'm not sure about the mobile AMD graphics, that's why I posted the question. You don't need an adapter at all, just a cable with DVI-D on one and HDMI on the other. I used it several times on desktops, always works and transmits audio. I'm pretty sure any of the AMD HD series desktop video supports audio through HDMI, that's why the HD series was started. Wish I still had my T500 and we would know pretty quick.
