Can T410 smart card reader be used in T420?

Hi,
I'm looking to add a smart card reader (FRU# 04W1638) to my T420, but unfortunately all the stores and auctions either have none in stock, have priced it ridiculously high or do not ship here. I do have other components (hard drive cover and cable).

Since the availability is poor, I've started looking into T410's smart card reader (FRU# 45N6030 and 60Y5029)
According to ThinkWiki ( http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Lenovo_In ... ard_Reader ), at least vendor- and product ID-s match for T410 and T430, so that's probably the case for T420 as well. Visually (Google image search) comparing the readers, they appear identical apart from labels, but cables differ a bit (T410's cable is narrower at connection and becomes wider while T420's has constant width).

So my question is - has anyone used T410 smart card reader in T420? Does it function, are connections, voltage etc the same?

Thank you in advance

The T430 reader works in a T420. In case of 430 and 420, the connectors etc. are same and it shows up as a USB device.
